How to find cheap holidays
Book a holiday as soon as they are first published or book late when the operators are desperate to sell their empty places. Booking a holiday while schools are closed is the most expensive time. Mid week and night time departures are cheaper than weekend and daytimes.
Look at the euro exchange rate, if it is high, then opt for destinations outwith the euro zone like Turkey Egypt or Bulgaria.
Check flight only prices and privately owned self catering apartments and villas for a better deal especially if you have a booking for more than 4 people
How to find cheap hotels
Compare hotels on the comparison sites as they all offer different rates and watch out for booking charges which are sometimes not shown until you get to the payments page.
Check the price on the hotels own website before booking, they can sometimes be cheaper or can offer you a better room.
If you stay in hotels regularly consider staying with a hotel chain and join their membership royalty program for discounts and special offers
How to find cheap flights
The cheapest dates for booking flights is January and February when demand is low, the most expensive is during school holidays. Tuesdays Wednesdays and Saturdays have the cheapest ticket prices for scheduled flights.
Compare flights for one-way outbound and inbound prices, they can often be cheaper than a return ticket and of course more flexible.
If your booking a last minute flight do it on a Wednesday this is when the airlines reduce the price for their empty seats for the weekend
